Moorehall Lodge Ardee achieved an amazing treble last night at the Nursing Homes Ireland Care Awards 2015.
Moorehall Lodge Ardee’s Carol McLoughlin, Michelle Watters and Breege Conlon all took top honours at the prestigious national awards in Dublin.
Carol won the national Nursing Home Director of Nursing/Person in Charge Award, and Breege and Michelle took the highest prize for the Nursing Home Community Initiative category.
And staff nurse Jackie Edwards made the final three in the Nursing Home Registered Nurse Of The Year Award.
This brings to six the number of NHI national awards won by Moorehall Living in the past four years.
Over 300 nominations were put forward from people in communities across Ireland for the NHI Care Awards nine award categories.
“We are thrilled with the awards – they are a great reflection on the unique care that all the team at Moorehall Lodge provide,” said Carol.
“We couldn’t believe it when our names were called out – to win one category is amazing, but two was far beyond what we dared to wish for.
“We are all very passionate about our work and are very proud of the unique and warm care environment we have created where people really flourish.”
Michelle and Breege took the top honours for an ongoing intergenerational care initiative involving the integration of local pre-school, primary and post-primary schools and Moorehall Lodge residents.
Moorehall Living Chairman Founder Michael McCoy was delighted with the news of the quadruple nomination.
“This recognition on a national stage means so much to Carol, Jackie, Michelle, Breege and the entire team at Moorehall Lodge.
“We are proud that both our residents and staff think of Moorehall Lodge as home, and our whole team are embodiments of that ethos.
“We have worked exceptionally hard to provide the highest standards of care, and we are honoured that our unique approach has been recognised by the highest awards in our sector.”
